If the code is entered incorrectly, your phone will delay the next attempt by 10 second increments. The limit for entries is 255 tries. After 255 attempts, the phone will be permanently blocked. To unblock it, take it to a RIM service center. No calls, including emergency calls, are possible when the phone is blocked.

FAQ

My phone asks to enter a PIN number.

For some SIM cards, you’ll need to enter a PIN. This is not the unlock code that we provided. For information about your PIN, PIN2, PUK or PUK2 code, consult your device’s manual.

When I insert a non-Vodafone Australia SIM card, I see a message other than “Invalid SIM Card.”

While “Invalid SIM Card” is the most common message, variations in software may change this. If you see a different message, try moving on to the next step.

If you see “Insert SIM,” “Bad Card,” “Card Error,” or “Card Rejected,” make sure your SIM card is inserted properly. The gold area should be facing down, and the cut of the corner should match correctly.

I am outside of Australia and experiencing difficulties unlocking the phone that I purchased from a Vodafone Australia outlet.

Send us a message, and we’ll be glad to troubleshoot your specific issue.
